About ACEG

The Association for Careers Education and Guidance has an Executive Council of up to fifteen members, including five Officers, elected annually by members of the Association.

There is also a network of local contacts who are all experienced practitioners in careers education and guidance. They act as a point of contact for members and occasionally share the work of representing the Association at meetings and events.

Already in 2008 the Council has

  • published a briefing paper on Careers Education in England: the framework, the standards and the programme of study and an update on Teaching and Learning Responsibilities for those working in the area of CEG

  • contributed to the series of events for subject leaders for careers education and Connexions and Local Authority advisers on the new PSHE: Economic Wellbeing and Financial Capability programmes

  • worked collaboratively with Careers England, Inspiring Futures, the Institute of Career Guidance, the National Association of Connexions Partnerships, and the national Innovations Group

  • attended meetings with representatives of the DCSF and QCA.
